Magazine honors Denver's Sherre' DeMao as an 'Enterprising Woman of the Year'

DENVER, NC - Sherré DeMao, President and Chief Marketeer of SLD Unlimited Marketing/PR, Inc. of Denver is a 2007 Enterprising Women of the Year award winner. The announcement came from Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women Magazine.
The award honors the country’s finest women entrepreneurs and their remarkable success. The award also recognizes winners as leader who have mentored and given back to other women in business, and have had a profound impact on their community. Award recipients will be honored at a gala dinner of Friday, Feb. 23 at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Over 400 nominations were considered in narrowing down the 2007 fifty winners. In addition to being recognized at the event, DeMao will also be featured with all other winners in the magazine later this year.
“Sherré DeMao is an accomplished entrepreneur who has earned the respect and admiration of her community,” Smiley said. “This award is a testament to Ms. DeMao’s remarkable accomplishments and we are proud to see her honored for her success and business acumen.”
DeMao is being honored as an owner of an enterprise with sales up to $1 million. She is among seven other North Carolina female entrepreneurs being recognized, and among 50 in the country out of hundreds being considered.
DeMao is founder of SLD Unlimited Marketing/PR, Inc., an innovative full-service marketing strategy and public relations company based in Denver. The company specializes in start-up to medium-sized privately held businesses seeking savvy solutions to marketing. Since 1984, DeMao has been helping start-up, small to medium, entrepreneurial companies become smarter marketers through providing creative and innovative marketing guidance, solutions and services. Her marketing expertise has been sought as a resource to business writers and her firm’s designs have won awards including the Telly, ProAd, PICA, Addy, and IABC Crown awards. The company won its first international award in 2006 for work done for an economic development client promoting one of its industrial parks.
Her business savvy has also been recognized with recognition as a woman business owner, entrepreneur and small business advocate including: a 2007 finalist for Queens University/Wachovia’s Business Woman of the Year, the Small Business Administration’s 2006 North Carolina and Southeast Women in Business Champion of the Year, being named among the 2006 Top 25 Women of Achievement by the Charlotte Business Journal; and being a three-time finalist for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneur of the Year (2006, 2000, 1998).
